Radio Suid Afrika/Radio South Africa wants to support and endorse music by our artists, musicians and songwriters. RSA HIT PARADE Facilitating a TOP 20 featuring original music by South African artists. CRITERIA: South African born and bred musicians, whether still residing within the boarders of the Republic of South Africa or at present residing in another country. Original work / musical composition is of the essence and not negotiable. All artists must be the legal owner/s of the musical compositions entered. No musical composition where AI (artificial intelligence) forms the core of the content will be favourably considered as an entry. Only musical composition with either one of the eleven (11) recognised languages, of the Republic of South Africa, may be entered for consideration. SUBMISSION: Visit RSA website www.radiosuidafrika.co.za Click on RSA TOP 20 Select “SUBMIT A SONG” Complete and send METHODOLOGY: A weekly RSA hit parade will be done weekly on www.radiosuidafrika.co.za Weekly on Wednesday nights 20:00 – 22:00 CAT Multi casted LIVE on COASTAL RADIO SA www.coastalradiosa.co.za Preliminary broadcast Sunday nights at 21:00 with all of the 25 songs that can be voted for in the coming weeks’ TOP 20 Hit Parade Listeners can vote online on www.radiosuidafrika.co.za from Wednesdays 22:00 CAT until Sunday nights at 23:59 CAT Online voting close at midnight every Sunday for the results to be processed and published online on all the relevant social media platforms. Presenting will for now be shared by Ajay Mouton (RSA) or Martin Nel (CRSA) SELECTION PANEL: Weekly submission will be received by the RSA Hit Parade panel of judges on a Thursday for their review, consideration and decision. These five selected songs will replace the lowest scoring songs (16-20) from the previous week. These songs will then feature that following Sunday on the preliminary chart and can be voted for in that weeks’ Hit Parade. All submissions will be kept for a month, 30 days as of the date received, and if not selected for the chart will then be deleted and the artist be notified by e-mail of the outcome. The songs replaced will not be re-entered for a second time within 60 days from the time it lost its position from the top 20 chart. SELCTION PANEL: R Martin D Oosthuizen D Mattheus D Cockerell B Breedt The review and decision of panelists will be regarded as permanent and final/ PROMOTION OF PARTICIPATING ARTISTS: All entries, as weekly on the top 25 entry list as per StrawPoll, will be on the auto playlist on Radio South Africa and will also be available as a REQUEST PLAY on www.radiosuidafrika.co.za The top 3 entries weekly will be showcased on the REFLECTIONS show Sundays between 19:00 and 21:00 CAT and Martin Nel’s REWIND, weekdays Monday to Friday 09:00 – 12:00. The later streamed to VAAL STEREO www.vaalstereo and RSA www.radiosuidafrika.co.za All information on the RSA Hit Parade will be weekly promoted on all social media platforms by all the collaborative partners. Including all social media platforms and other relevant media. GOALS AND ACHIEVEMENT: Assist artists to build a fan base by facilitating a Hit Parade on radio. Create a common ground for the music fraternity. Create visibility for local talent through the Hit Parade on radio. Showcase songs by local artists and bands on station playlists. Giving opportunity to promoters and private creators to have their songs played on radio. Create a communal space where anyone can find artists almost never heard of and also those already well known. Give music fans ownership of a platform where they can listen to local music and take part in voting for their favourite artist or song.
